| Chapter 4 After learning that having Asmodeus as a front-man was really one of Creidhne's tricks that Coy fell for, John and the Troll had a very serious meeting in secret. In this meeting it was decided that the future of Clad in Darkness would be safer if founding member Coy was let go. Finding a replacement for Coy would be difficult, but the band eventually found one in Coy's twin brother, Koi. Koi was superior to Coy in every possible way, and even agreed to help the band out by providing vocals. Koi might not have the best singing while playing guitar talents, but he didn't torment cats or have a demonic rock living in his skull, which more than made up for it. Many people were oblivious to the change in line up since most fans thought Coy's name was Koi anyway and the few that did notice didn't really care about the change. Andrew the Skullsplitter had his own plans for the future of Clad in Darkness. He felt resentful because he was the drummer and he doesn't matter at all and had no say in bringing Koi into the band. One could argue he does matter and that it's just an unfortunate stereotype that everyone hates the drummer, but the truth is, well, no one cares about him. He's the drummer. He should get over it and be thankful they don't just replace him with an Alesis SR-16. Anyway, the Skullsplitter and Koi knew that the troll has a hot twin sister named Kris. Well, I don't know if she's really hot. She does like to perform though. Before she was recruited for this band she was a carnival bearded lady. She really just looks like the troll but with hair just like Britney Spears, but supposedly metal guys really go for troll chicks and decided that she should play bass to increase the band's sex appeal. I'm not sure why Koi and Andrew want to have sex appeal to their male fans. Perhaps they felt that the power metal audience was a good untapped source of money. It was also felt that John was no longer was true enough in the company of Koi, Kris, and the Skullsplitter. As luck would have it, a very true monster, the Grendel, happened to be a metal guitarist and looked enough like John that most people wouldn't be able to tell them apart. Koi and the Skullsplitter enlisted the aid of Kris and the Grendel, and John and the troll were ejected from the band. Andrew the Skullsplitter, being the only original member, now felt that he had power, or at least more power. Since these people joined his band, his ego grew to hair metal star proportions. He felt accomplished, respected, and important. The fool. He was only allowed to remain because none of the new members could afford a replacement drum machine... for now. Having finalized the new line up, Clad in Darkness went into the studio. They were assisted by session musicians Lars Scottberg and Lars Whitfield. Both were experienced in the recording process, and had mastered the art of looping 2 or 3 notes into a complete song. This sped up recording time significantly, because by the second day Koi's sanity had left him after he spent the night locked in a small box. This descent into madness would ultimately have its price, as it was Koi's duty to update the website about the change in line up. The responsibility would be on the Skullsplitter, but that would mean someone would have had to give him the account info necessary to update the page. Since drummers aren't real musicians and therefore not real members, he isn't allowed to update the site or make official statements. Besides, he is highly suspected of being illiterate. Andrew is all sorts of Shades of Dumb. And so is Koi, who did a very piss poor job in updating the site. He neglected the band biography, as well as updating the photo page. Creidhne is really tired of all the crap this band keeps pulling in spite of how much help he has tried to provide, so he decided to visit the studio and punish Koi for his laziness. As fate would have it, Creidhne was not the only one planning on visiting Koi that night. Coy was angered at his brother for replacing him in his own band, and figured he could reclaim his spot in the line up if he took Koi out of commission. Coy snuck into the studio on the second night when everyone was asleep, armed with a true Norwegian broadsword (such desperation... you know what it means when you leave your house with your sword. That's right, gay power metal fan. Doesn't matter that it's a true Norwegian broadsword. The rule still applies). |
