| Chapter 3 Midterms were over, and Andrew was amazed he was able to survive for this long. But the constant torment and abuse from Varg was taking its toll on his psyche. He had neglected many of his studies and was failing his classes. He had also stopped playing drums and he was tired of being pounded like one all the time. All that he could think about was vengeance at any cost. His hatred for Varg was so intense that he would do anything to put an end to him regardless of the effects it would have on anyone else. He prayed daily to both Creidhne and Hodur, neither of which came to his aid. Maybe because they’re somewhat of rival gods and don’t want to help anyone who won’t commit to a single deity. Some gods from polytheistic pantheons have problems with worshippers who fear committing themselves to a monogamous deity/mortal suck up relationship. But this was no problem for The Skullsplitter. For he knew something about one of the other gods. This was not a popular deity among metal heads, especially in black metal. Nor did this god fancy the blasphemous music these bands played. But Varg was for more reviled than Clad in Darkness, so this god was willing to play ball. In the southern lands of the country, there was a legendary demonic shrub. The shrub was simply known as The Walker. The Walker lay dormant for many years, easily mistaken for a normal, run-of-the-mill type of shrubbery. But Andrew prayed. And his prayers were answered. The demon shrub rose back into power, resembling an Ent from those movies whose name I forget. You know what ones I speak of; they’re based on those really long books about midgets with hairy feet. The Walker headed north to the land he was generally reviled in (only the southern parts really cared for this demon. He was a demon, but he did the horrible bidding of a supposedly good and loving god. I don’t get it either). The demonic shrub traveled to SNU, where he found Varg quickly. He did not care that Varg had committed murder and robbed a family in his daring prison escape. He only cared about the homosexual acts he forced upon Andrew. Varg was smote, and Andrew was pleased. He was finally free of Varg’s torment, and he could continue studying for his law degree and lead a normal college life. But if it were only that simple. The Walker was not going to return to his dormant state. There was too much offensive material in his country of origin. The Walker remained and continued to impose his god’s will on all of Norway. Many freedoms were lost, and many innocent lives were destroyed, for Andrew had gained his freedom from Varg by enslaving all of Norway. |
